Mr. Beckley was involved
with the design and construction of Vail and Beaver Creek
for twenty years. Beginning in the mid seventies, he was
integrally involved in a total revamp of the signage concept
of Vail Mountain. As Beaver Creek started to become a
flourishing ski area, it was felt there was a major need
to become a viable ski mountain. The legendary "Grouse
Mountain" and "Birds of Prey" were a joint
effort with Vail resorts excellent design team.
Later, the purchase of the adjacent Arrowhead Mountain
and the resultant interconnection involved Mr. Beckley
and the Vail team. Moving to Steamboat Springs as President
and General Manager of Catamount Ranch and Club, a highly
successful golf course and lake community was established.
Mr. Beckley has since been involved in design aspects
of ski areas in British Columbia and several fishing operations.
He continues to work on design concepts for beach-front
properties in Chile, a castle in Scotland and his own
project, "Utopie" in Northern Spain. Mr. Beckley
has also submitted a destination garden concept covering
over 300 acres called, "Garden gates" to the
Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.
"Michael
has vast experience in all aspects of the ski and golf
business. Having built and managed Vail and Beaver Creek,
run two World Alpine Ski Championships and built two golf
courses, Mr. Beckley has spent 30 years developing his
expertise... I would highly recommend Mr. beckley to provide
an in depth analysis of any resort operation and integrate
his skills in design, operation and financial feasibility.
